SERVE Team: Connect
Our Connect Team has some of the friendliest faces you'll ever meet at Bayview!
Do you like meeting new people, showing hospitality, and helping in whatever way possible? Come join us! Explore roles including Greeter, Usher, Hospitality, Parking Lot, the Welcome Centre, Lobby Events, and our Next Steps Centre. Joining our Connect Team is one of the best ways to start getting involved at Bayview Glen!
Time Commitment: At least once per month during one of the Sunday services.
Role Description(s)
Greeters
Greeters are the first face anyone sees when coming to Bayview Glen. After pre-service prayer with the Connect Team, they go to the assigned entrance where they warmly and enthusiastically welcome those arriving for the service, assist the elderly or individuals with accessibility needs to enter the building, and give directions when needed.
Hospitality
The Hospitality Team plays a vital role in fostering fellowship by providing a warm and inviting atmosphere through refreshments. After pre-service prayer with the Connect Team, they serve beverages and snacks to the congregation at their designation stations. They also ensure that refreshment stations are organized, well-stocked and cleaned throughout and after service.
Lobby Events
The Lobby Events Team organizes events in the church lobby area. This team is responsible for coordinating seasonal events that foster connection, build community, and support the overall mission of the church.
Parking Lot
The Parking Lot Team ensures that people feel welcomed and supported before they even enter the building! After pre-service prayer with the Connect Team, they put on traffic vests and go to one of the parking lots where they wave to attendees as they enter, direct cars in an effective and efficient manner, head inside 15 minutes after the service starts, and return after the service to facilitate the flow of traffic as cars exit the parking lot.
Ushers
Ushers invite worshippers from the foyer into the sanctuary. After pre-service prayer with the Connect Team, they go to their assigned sanctuary door where they warmly welcome those arriving for the service, invite attendees to be seated, distribute communion, say goodbye to people as they leave, and ensure that the sanctuary is ready for the next service.
Welcome Centre
The Welcome Centre Team helps worshippers to better connect to our Bayview family. Ideally composed of individuals who have been part of the Bayview community for some time, who have experienced the joy of this vibrant community, and possess a genuine desire to see others get connected. They engage in conversations, answer questions, provide information about our ministries, and effectively communicate our vision, mission and values. Their dedication ensures that every individual feels welcomed, informed, and integrated into the life of our church.
Next Steps Centre
The Next Steps Centre (NSC) Team helps people take their next step of joining a Life Group (LG) or SERVE team, getting Baptised or attending the Discovery Course. The NSC will reduce wait time for those wanting to join LGs or SERVE teams while connecting them with someone who can facilitate their connection.
